CONNECT @ Valley

In my position as the evening reference coordinator at the Oregon State University Valley Library I had a leadership role in the development of new student orientation activities during new student week. In Fall 2007 a number of activities were created to introduce the students to the library and use of its services. The attached presentation was created for a presentation at the Oregon Library Association / Washington Library Association 2008 conference in Vancouver, WA. This presentation breaks down the activities and explains the planning and functional processes for attendees to gain a better grasp of academic outreach programming at OSU. This artifact demonstrates the teaching outcome in that it is an example of my teaching others to how to use a set of tools to accomplish programmatic goals. Their outcome was a greater exposure and facility to these tools.
